Ganesha also known as Ganapati, Vinayaka, Pillaiyar and Binayak, is one of the best-known and most worshipped deities in the Hindu pantheon. Although he is known by many attributes, Ganesha's elephant head makes him easy to identify. Ganesha is widely revered as the remover of obstacles (as mooshik / rat vehicle sitting next to him), the patron of arts and sciences and the deva of intellect and wisdom. As the god of beginnings, he is honoured at the start of rites and ceremonies. Ganesha's earliest name was Ekadanta (One Tusked), referring to his single whole tusk, wrote down parts of the Mahabharata Epic. In sculpture the position of Lord Ganesha's trunk has a symbolic meaning. If the trunk turns to the Ganesh's left, that is the direction for success in the world.
